Trying to find a honeymoon hotel for DP and I for a couple of nights (the longest we can palm DD off on DM for). We just want somewhere we can totally relax. Naice rooms, ideally some public lounges, good food on the premises or nearby. Oh and I love the sea so would like to be on the coast. Budget around £200 p/n
Not much to ask right mumsnetters??

Guaranteed best views/sunset you'll ever see.

ha ha I totally agree but we got engaged there and it was so perfect we are scared to taint it by returning!!

Always good to come across a fellow Morecambe fan!

How about here?

A friend got married here last year and it was lovely.

Not close to the sea but lovely has lake walks.

Not sure how far down into Wales you're considering, but harbourmasters at Aberaeron is lovely. Excellent food and right on the harbourside (unsurprisingly enough Grin). DH, DD1 and I stayed in Ty Newydd in Aberdaron a few years ago and whilst it was ok for a short break, it's not (or wasn't) particularly honeymoon material IMO.

Bodysgalen, Llandudno
Have never been but its supposed to be fab
I have friends who go to Aberaeron regularly but diont know the hotel

If you can got a sea view room, the hotel is amazing. All you can hear is the sea and the waves.

I think having looked at the map aberaeron is a bit far which is a shame as I've visited before and love that part of Wales!
I've been to Bodysgallen for work and it was bloody lovely, perhaps we should break the try somewhere new rule and go there!
We were wondering about seaham hall too.
I'm tempted to look at the lakes as we are in the northwest but again we have been up there a lot. There are some amazing country house type hotels though...

The Trefeddian at Aberdyfi has amazing views

Ffin y Parc is near Llanrwst and looks utterly fabulous. The Castell Deudraeth Hotel in Portmeirion is supposed to be nice too (and the hotel within Portmeirion itself?) though may be a little further than you plan on travelling.

We spent our(2 day) honeymoon at The Swan in Grasmere . Was lovely .(think it may have changed hands. It was nearly 33 years ago)
I envy you the Bodysgallen . Near where my DB lives. Have always fancied it . Might see if I can take SIL there for afternoon tea!

Number 43 at Arnside was our first stop on honeymoon a couple of years ago... More boutique hotel / high end B&B but may tick the box.
