Desperate for a holiday - Cheap and cheerful in Dartmouth - is this possible?

There are 6 of us, 2 adults, 6 year old, 4 year old and twin 1 year olds - the latter being the reason that our holiday options are either - none - or as cheap as possible. We have had some lovely holidays in Dartmouth the last few years, and would like to be in the town centre or a mile away max. Is this possible, does anyone have any recommendations? Our budget is £700 maximum for 1 week, our annual leave dates are 15 August for the following 2 week period, we've already told the kids we cant afford to go away this year (but by god we need it), so is there anyone out there who can help us? Thanks!

are you looking for a cottage? have you looked at some of the specialist websites to do with Dartmouth and the local tourist information office. what about awaywiththekids website? you might have to compromise and go somewhere slightly cheaper. school holiday prices have gone through the roof imo. the gove changes to holidays in term time have a lot to answer for. May half term might be cheaper. can you move your dates?
