Would like to take the children for a weeks holiday before christmas.

We fancy Ireland and Norway and dw has asked me to ask you lot which you would recommend

We can get to both by boat v easly and could take our car.

Where would you go and why?

I would choose Norway but mostly because I've never been there! I would think weather-wise it would be dryer at that time of year too.

I'd say Norway just because it might be more christmassy and unusual , too.

ireland is just so friendly and welcoming and just plain nice with no stupidly mad drivers

cryptmonkey · 19/10/2006 00:33

So that truck driver that nearly ran me down while driving on the wrong side of the road last Friday 13th, Jampots, d'you think he was just being friendly?
Anteater, I live in Ireland and love it but will warn you I have had to turn my heating on several times in the last week. Mind you, Norway's not going to be any warmer, is it?

Anteater.
Norway is absolutly beautiful but keep in mind that it is very expensive. (especially alcohol). There is also likely to be a lot of snow around at Christmas time - i.e. quite cold. what part of Norway are you thinking of going to?
p.s. My mother is Norwegian so been there a lot
