Lancashire holiday lodge/cottage recommendations?

We have decided not to go abroad this year but have a UK based holiday instead, we were thinking Lancashire as DD wants to go to Blackpool but we don't want to stay in Blackpool itself, we wanted somewhere we could use as a base to have a couple of days there, a couple in the Lake District, maybe a day sightseeing in Liverpool. Anyone got a recommendation for a nice but reasonably priced 2 bedroom cottage or lodge in the area?

This place is perfect for you. www.ribbyhall.co.uk/ We went there last year with our two DC (13 and 15) but there were families of all ages- in fact would suggest it is better for younger kids. Loads to do on site but only short drive to Blackpool and the coast and not far from Preston for cinema/shopping etc.

Thanks for the replies, been doing some research online and came across this place which looks great and DD will love being near a farm with real animals. If we can't get it for the dates we want I'll try Ribby Hall .

Hi can't link as on my phone but recently stayed at Blackbird Cottage in Waddington which was lovely. It comes up if you google it. Great pubs that serve food in the village, beautiful countryside and 15/20 mins to the M6.

Ooh nice BadtzMaru, I live just a few miles away from there. Perfect spot to be able to visit Blackpool (I'd say 40 minute drive without traffic) and Liverpool (about the same). 15/20 minutes or so from Southport too which is gorgeous and some nice places to eat in Ormskirk nearby. I'd go for that if you haven't already
