Any suggestions for days out?
We are staying at Presthaven but I just want to use it as a base, I would rather go into Wales as we haven't been thatway before rather than back into England to Cheshire/Liverpool.
TIA

Colwyn Bay Mountain zoo
Llandudno (pier and the Great Orme)
Kayaking on Bala lake
Llangollen (pretty small town with steam train)

Chester zoo
Don't go to Rhyl

We kayaked on Bala lake with a 6 and 8 year old..very shallow

The Green Wood Centre (think that's what it's called) is fab. Big slides to toboggan down but made of dry ski slope stuff, mini one for wee kids. A fun boat course thing. Some natury/earthy activities like wood turning, rabbits. Look it up, think there's a website.

Llanberis railway to slate mines.

Haven't been to N Wales for a couple of years so memory a bit dim.

Rhyl, longtime! We went there by mistake and had a surreal experience.

Conwy is a very pretty town and has a great castle. (I'm not even sure where Prestatyn is - I'm basing this on longtime's places)

Conwy claims to have the smallest house in Britain and it's great fun to pop in with the kids. Kids are tickled by that sort of thing.

Anglesey has a sea zoo and plenty of castles along the coast attractions

Oh yeah, Anglesey is beautiful. Go to Llanfairgogoch.... or whatver, the place with the longest name. Kids love that. Actually, that's where you can visit a slate mine as well isn't it? Loads of things to do.
