Hoping to stay for three night four days at budget price...maybe premier inn or Travelodge? Can anyone recommend a nice one and convenient to main attractions. It will be me, DH and DCs 7 and 9 yrs.
We would like to take them to see a show...when is the best time to buy tickets? What are the must attractions to do with DCs?

We stayed at the Tate Modern Premier Inn last year and found it to be good (quite new) and handy sir Southbank, Eye etc.

What do you mean by 'budget price'? Most hotels in London are v expensive even travelodge etc.

For shows - if you're coming in August then 'kids week' which runs for the whole of August enables you to buy one free kid ticket per adult ticket which is a great deal, it's not for all of the shows but quite a few. The tickets go on sale sometime in June for that, you can sign up to get email notification when they go on sale.

Also if you use tesco then check out the clubcard deals - you can use the vouchers for aquarium tickets, London zoo, Tower of London, bus tours, river boat trips etc - otherwise that sort of thing gets v pricey. We live in London and don't go to the 'pay for' attractions unless we have vouchers.

I think it is a travel lodge on Shaftesbury Avenue which is central and convenient for theatreland

We have stayed at various Premier Inns. Holborn was lovely & very handy for Covent Garden. Kensington nice but the trains are right next door so can keep you awake. Euston & Kings Cross are a bit further out but are handy for the tube.

We always book tickets via Kidsweek.

Premier inn at County Hall is an excellent location, we've booked three nights b&b for 4 (me, dh and 2dcs) in May next year for under £300.
Museums are good and free, a walk along Southbank and round houses of parliament, horseguards parade, St James Park and Buckingham Palace another good walk.

Premier Inn on South Bank (either Tate Modern one or County Hall) are both brilliant locations and if you book far enough ahead well priced. Or if you are booking with a show there are deals available for accommodation and show tickets that might give a good saving
