Family hotel 2 hrs from London

Looking for a lovely hotel for 1-2 nights not too far from London.

Have previously tried The Grove, Stoke Park , limewood (with an 8 week old before ££ reality hit)

Would like very family friendly with a nice pool and somewhere that feels nice (modern)

When for? No personal experience, but wondered if the hotels near Legoland etc might be worth looking at out of season?
