We're looking for a nice, 5*ish family friendly hotel in either the Lake District or Anglesey/Wales which has a pool and will let us feel pampered (and our three and six year old boys entertained) for a couple of nights over half term.

Any suggestions? X

Langdale hotel? Has rooms, timeshare park, pool etc

Plus there are normally timetabled activities for kids though depends on age

Armathwaite hall near bassenthwaite is lovely. North lakes hotel in penrith has pool and spa. Lovely food and very child friendly. Great location to explore the lakes.

What about centre parcs. There is one 5 miles from penrith. A luxury lodge is lovely. Lots for kids to do and has one of the best spas in the area ( am a local. )

Sorry not very organised here, while at Langdale I got private swimming lessons for my two and the lady was really great. Also has a relatively small soft play area, outdoor chess set etc.. Since it has an estate there's a lot of space close by to explore and loads of little walks from the lodge, one around elterwater etc.

Oh has another thought. Broad oaks country house hotel at Windermere. Lots of outdoor activities there as well
The Belsfield also at Windermere recently been done up and looks fab.
