Hotel in York with family rooms

We are planning on taking a trip to York in the half-term break with our two DC. I am looking for a hotel with good size family rooms - does anyone have any recommendations?

We are planning on travelling by train - so something fairly central or with good transport links to the centre of York is preferable.

Hi, years ago we stayed and had parties at the royal York hotel. Our children were quite young then and we shared a family room. They were of good size and ideal location. Convenient for York centre and right next to the station. Also abit out of town in acaster malbis are chestnut farm cottages and caravans, really lovely too .

We stayed in a premier inn with our 3dc earlier in the year, it was great, walking distance into the city, cheap and cheerful and the family room was easily big enough even with a travel cot!

I would look at the Lawrance (spelt like that) apartments. Stayed in one in June and it was fab and within v easy walk of the train station. I paid £99 for one night.

Ohh, I didn't see the replies before now - thank you for all the suggestions, I shall take a look.
