Ok, so we have to go to see my auntie next week and need somewhere nice near BS7 to stay overnight. there are 2 adults and 3 children to find beds for. Can anyone recommend a place to stay that can give us dinner in the evening and which won't break the bank? Maybe even one that has massive family rooms, or a deal where the second room is very cheap.

My relatives usually stay at the Aztec hotel in Bradley Stoke. It's a short drive away but they get a good deal on two rooms and get to use the pool.

Well, sorry to say this hotel is by no means fantastic. It is positioned on an industrial estate near a busy road. We originally booked a family room after a long conversation with the hotel about what they were like, but never got one. The room they tried to put us in made my jaw drop. It was actually an office designed for conference break out session, and it had temporary beds crammed in it. I complained and they tried to sort put alternatives, and we were offered two separate bedrooms down the corridor from each other, for which we had to wait 40 minutes while they made them up - it was well past DS3's bedtime by then. The website promised lots of family friendly touches such as milk and biscuits at bedtime delivered to the room, and kiddie bathrobes, but when we asked about this, the hotel looked at us as though we had gone mad. They do not supply bathrobes at all, for anyone, apparently. In fact there are zero family friendly touches for children here - it is a bland business hotel. Finally I have been kept awake by traffic noise and sirens all night, and annoyingly for a person who writes housekeeping books, this room is fairly grubby. Someone has written 'dust me' on the Venetian blinds. Also irritating is the fact that there is a coffee pod machine in the room but no pods, nothing like a hot chocolate sachet for the kids (obviously they don't drink tea and coffee) and indeed every corner that could be cut has been.

What would Alex Polizzi say?!!ShockWink

I am especially sad as the alternative would have been a great country house hotel with a bit of atmosphere and hopefully no traffic noise. I am shattered. ConfusedHmm
