Place to stay/things to do near Drayton Manor

Thinking of taking my DS (will be 3) to Drayton Manor next summer. Does anybody have any recommendations for best locations to stay (will be week self catering) and other kiddy focused days out. Will have a 6-7 month old by then too.

Is cheebies worth it (have heard it's not!)?

Any thoughts welcome!!

We took DS to Drayton manor when he was about 3 and he absolutely loved it. Not sure about accommodation as we only live about an hour away.

Not too far from Drayton is Tamworth Snowdome, Calke Abbey (NT) Conkers and Tamworth Castle.

Mine also liked Alton Towers at 3 but 2 theme parks in a month might be a bit much!

If you do fancy coming to a bit further north there's Alton Towers, Emma Bridgewater, Waterworld, Biddulph Grange, Little Moreton Hall, the Wedgwood Centre, Monkey Forest and Trentham Gardens
