Have never been to Cornwall before so v excited! Have found what appears to be a very lovely place in the centre of town, but am a bit worried that there may not be enough to do there for the whole week (two adults, one eleven-year-old ds).

Is it easy to get to other parts of the county for the day (eg, St Austell, Penzance etc)? We will have the car but happy to use train etc if easier/nicer. Would also quite fancy a boat trip somewhere?

Any particular recommendations for places to go/things to do? We have already thought of Eden Project but any other ideas would be great.

There is quite a lot to do in St Ives and you'll have no trouble finding an interesting boat trip. St Austell is quite a long drive, Penzance is much nearer and the very pretty fishing village of Mousehole is not far from Penzance. Also easily do-able for a day trip is the castle on St Michael's mount at Marazion -- you can walk across a causeway at low tide or get a boat to the island at other times. A bit further down into the Lizard peninsular the seal sanctuary at Gweek near Helston is worth a visit. Have a lovely time!

There is plenty to do In Cornwall, I should know, I live here!
A trip to lands end
Holywell bay
Various villages and beaches around
Eden
St Michaels mount

Finding it difficult to think of places as I take it all for granted!

You'll find plenty around.

Travelling is dead easy, most places are accessible by main roads. If you aren't comfortable on narrow roads you should avoid them.

You'll have a lovely time.
