1 or 2 nights away for £150 in August

Non driver, 1 adult , 3 dcs, train , hotel and museum/zoo/activity need to cost less than £150, not london but prefer to be only 1-2 hrs away from London by train, have looked on travelodge site but can't seem to find the £29 rooms .

Have you tried youth hostels? Some family rooms might still be avalible

Sorry, iPad posted before I was ready. Please can anyone think of a town/ city that I can visit with dcs for a budget short break.

Littlehampton YHA looks very close to train station. Trains will be from Victoria, might be over an hour.

Windsor, 30 -40mins from London on train

Bristol has a zoo and is less than 2 hr from London on train.

Swindon and York have railway museums (York has loads of other stuff, but is a little more than 2 hours from London).
Birmimgham has Cadbury World.
No idea if these can be done on £150.
I think there are limited £29 rooms with Travelodge, and when they're booked, they're gone. Also, don;t they only take 4 people per room?

Thanks, I'm liking the idea of littlehampton. There are only 4 of us for a travelodge room, myself and 3dcs, but the yha site is great so I will have a look properly tomorrow. Thanks for all suggestions.
