Can anyone recommend a good weekend place to stay with a 2 year old?

We want to get away next weekend, somewhere not too far from us (Berkshire) and that's good for a 2 year old. We're not campers and I know that caravan parks won't do 2 night stays. So I thought about hotels, but need to find somewhere where we're not going to be stuck sat in the dark at 8pm once dd is in bed. Does anyone know of a good option where we could still sit outside while she sleeps?
Any recommendations much appreciated!

There is a great bed and breakfast in Burton-on-Trent called Badger's Rest which has a 2 double bedroom chalet with a sitting room/kitchen which has an outside seating balcony. We were there last weekend. I found it a few years ago and we are regulars now, first on our own and now with our baby. pM if you want details.

Thanks nannynome, looks great - sadly not available next weekend but will definitely keep it in mind for next time.

Have you thought about some of the glamping stuff?

For instance?

We found a nice little cottage to rent in the end, was the same price as some static caravan places we found! I'll take a look at those links though, DH hates camping but maybe I could tempt him with glamping instead! Have you been?

No but will be thinking about it next year. DS is only 6 months and we have done a fair bit of being away in the last couple of months plus a house move. We have decided to be homebodies for a month or two as he starts nursery next month and I am back at work the month after! Life has been a whirlwind for him! Have an awesome holiday :)
