South-ish UK beach Holidays?

Hello - expertise needed please :-)

I've been looking at cornwall st ives but all booked up - and need suggestions for other places to try for a late August family beach holiday. Really haven't got a clue.

Just want a lovely beach and some famiky friendly attractions nearby would be a bonus...

Any suggestions v v welcome

Anywhere on the south coast? Weymouth has a lovely beach for children.

North Norfolk. Wells, Sheringham, Cromer area - gorgeous beaches and loads to do nearby.

lastminute-cottages website is a good place to start. everywhere has booked up mega early this year due to the Gove changes so for august you might really struggle. how late is late. 29th?

It depends how late you want but we stayed in the larger of these two cottages last week and it was the nicest holiday cottage I have ever stayed in.
