Travelling to Guys hospital

Can anyone advise on how to get to Guys during the day for an early afternoon appointment? I really can't face the Tube and would love to drive the journey but appreciate that's a mad idea. I've so far worked out to get the train from Reading to Waterloo then hoping to get the bus to Guys? But really don't know? Also wondering if I should stay overnight the night before? My appt is at 2:30pm?

Bus route 381 (or C10 or RV1 and short walk).

Allow about 40 minutes for the journey.

You could get an overground train from Waterloo east to London bridge very easily. Or you could walk along the river - about 45 minutes but a nice walk.

If you walk from Waterloo main station to Waterloo East (escalator up and a very short walk) then it's one stop on the train, of which there's one every couple of minutes. Guys is right next to London Bridge station.

You would comfortably get from Waterloo to Guys in less than half an hour.

Thanks so much! I though London bridge was the nearest but thought it was only an underground station?! Hard to work it out for a country girl like me lol! I will be totally on my own too :(

You'll be fine Smile

It has a train station, an underground station and a bus terminal so it's rather large!
When you come out of London Bridge train station, you turn left and go down some escalators. The building on your immediate left is the Shard- crick your neck upwards!
Cross the road and the hospital is right there. It's too busy to be lonely for long, lots of people to watch.

Hope you're ok Flowers
