Quiet caravan park/chalet holidays in Wales, or SW/SE England

Looking for inspiration and personal recommendations as google and tripadvisor is a bit overwhelming.

Went on a Eurocamp holiday last year with DS - now 2 - and interested in something similar for this year's holiday but as money and time is tighter, in the UK instead. We're in Hampshire, and whilst DH is interested in Kent/East Sussex, I'm interested in Wales or SW England (but both are willing to compromise).

I'm not interested in a noisy 'entertainment' filled holiday - just somewhere with a pool and a children's play area would be fine. Wouldn't use children's club/night entertainment. We'd be going at the end of June/beginning of July (I know we've left this a bit too late..!) and we'd be taking trips to historic sites (NT and EH members), walks in the countryside, etc. Close to the coast is a nice, but not a must have.

The alternative- which we've done in pre children days- would be a cottage, but felt having a pool on site would be fun thing to do with DS. And we're spoiled by having a play park at the end of our road so a trip to the swings is a very regular occurrence!

Any recommendations from the wisdom of mumsnet?

we stay here and have been a few times. it has a swimming pool, play park and indoor play barn. there are also farm animals but it is a small place with 7 or 8 cottages together so not noisy or organised entertainment. mine are older now but they loved it when they were little. you get to feed the animals as well and the swimming pool is always warm. its near the sea and in se cornwall which we have always found easier to get to as you go along the a38 not the a30 which can be a bit of a car park in the summer.

Lydstep beach (I think that's what it's called) near Tenby is a Haven site, but don't let that put you off, it's lovely and quiet, far fewer facilities than other sites we have been on, but just enough (shop, bar/restaurant and pool).

I came on to say Lydstep too. Loved it when dd was 2. Haven but less entertainment than usual, indoor pool, play area and right on rocky beach. The surrounding area has lots of beautiful scenery, loads of great beaches. Bosherston lily ponds were beautiful and I think NT. But also places more obviously aimed at children tourist attractions like folly farm, manor house wildlife park.

Pentewan Sands in Mevagissey - has nice pool/bar/restaurant/soft play (but low key) and its own beach - well located for Heligan Sands, Lanhydrock/Trerice NT, loads of nice beaches & other days out.

Great minds, CatL! We got a last min break there when I was in early pregnancy and feeling a bit bleugh. We loved it and will definitely return with the (now) toddler :)
We loved the retro ice cream parlour in Tenby too :)
