Try myhotel.com as they're reasonably cheap. There are loads of small hotels in Olympia and Bloomsbury (russell square kind of area). Olympia tends to be a bit more flea-pitty though.

Had a girly weekend away in a nicehotel - Jury's Clifton Ford their website Not sure if it's as cheap as you want but we thought it was good value. If you like full english breakfast make sure you get a deal that includes it, otherwise it's pricey. Also has a health club in the basement whch guests can use - pool, sauna etc. Location is great, a couple of minutes walk from Oxford Street. Would throughly recommend it - rooms are a little small but trendy decor, lovely staff etc.
Its on several hotel booking websites including lastminute.com. We booked through superbreaks beacuse we also wanted theatre tickets.

This is my favourite hotel website - if you're lucky or book ahead you can get a hotel in London for £26 a night. We stayed in the London City Airport one a couple of months ago and it was great. Near a DLR station so about 30 mins into London, big clean room and we paid a bit extra to have breakfast.
