A couple of days around Loch Lomond cheaply?

There is a wedding we are invited to in Loch Lomond in August, and we are thinking of how to make it a little trip rather than just a flight for 2 days. What is there near by (we'll have to hire a car) that is suitable for a 3yo? I.e not long walks sadly. Any ideas, recommendations, etc much appreciated.

Hi, there are lovely boat trips around the loch leaving from Balloch and Luss, either from one point to another, round the island etc. Beaches on the quieter east side of the loch near Balmaha which are easy to reach by car and great for skimming stones, paddling, pottering about etc. Day trip to Stirling for castle and Wallace monument. Loch Katrine for boat trips too. Lovely little ruined abbey on a tiny island in the middle of Lake of Mentieth nearby, great for exploring and running around, reached by little boat on shore. Glasgow easily accessible by train from Balloch for museums...Kelvingrove is great one for children and nice park and playground next to it. Science Centre and Transport Museum also popular with little ones. Lots to do but depends on weather so would pack wellies and waterproofs even though August!
