Please help me find the perfect romantic cottage

I would really like to take DP away in august for his birthday. We need to stay in South of England. Won't have DCs with us so don't really want to be in a family orientated place.

I was thinking of a small romantic cottage somewhere in the countryside. Preferably with a fire possibly even something special like a fourposter bed/hot tub/bath in the bedroom etc. something that makes it different from home. Really want it to be special as he hasn't had a great year and it will be the only holiday we get.

Definitely open to ideas for spa/hotels or something like yurts/shepherd's huts/tree houses etc. but presume most of these would be overrun by families in August.

Does anyone have any ideas before I spend weeks trawling the internet?

All ideas welcome. TIA

Thank you. Budget about £500 but doesn't have to be more than a couple of days.

I took my Husband to Elvey Farm near Pluckley in Kent a few years ago, we had an amazing time, rooms are beautiful and spacious, with feature bathrooms. It was spotlessly clean and there is a very good restaurant and a handy bar on site.

There are plenty of lovely country pubs nearby and it's a beautiful part of Kent.

The treehouse at Harptree Court in Somerset is fab!

In Cornwall, so possibly a bit far, but lovely and you can search by key words like 'Perfect for Couples' and 'Hot tub'.

Both in the Cotswolds, so not sure if it's the right location?

If it's not too late I am prepared to let you into my secret Wink . Google Millbrook Cottages, Devon. Wonderful place, always very booked up, no young children!

These cottages have spa people who come to your room
