Hotel with family room in/near Portsmouth

We are planning a trip to Portsmouth to visit the Historic Dockyard and thought it would be nice to stay overnight so we can visit a few other attractions as well.

Does anyone have any recommendations for a nice hotel with family rooms (DC 5 & 2, budget variable)?

We stayed at the maritime club which was an odd place. Rather down at heel. Benefits close to dockyard and family room was a double with a room off it with bunk beds. Can't remember breakfast so can't of been too special.
OK I guess if just after/a bed but not if you/are/after somewhere nice or luxury.
There is a Marriott at gun wharf quays . Very close by

I stayed at that Marriott twice with my DC. We enjoyed the swimming pool and the restaurant.

Thanks - it's looking like the Holiday Inn (main one not the Express at Gunwharf Quays) is the only hotel with a family room on the date we want.

The Marriott doesn't seem to like 4 peopl(2 adults, 2 DC) in a room? Or is there some trick to booking that I am missing?

There is a Premier Inn right next door to the fun fair, overlooking the seafront and Portsmouth Harbour. Really easy walk to all the attractions from there or buses quick & easy. The hotel does a a car park attached to it but parking nearer the attractions you mention can be pricey.
