Hi, we stayed here in October 2004 with 5 and 4 yr old. Beautiful grounds. We did move room from Dower House to main hotel and the hotel room we had was much much nicer and more spacious. I remember thinking that our D was at the top end age in the creche and she was five but expect that during the summer hols there would be more school age children there. Food was all good. The basement bistro/pizza place was good for the children. Pricey though, particularly in August I expect. There was a good swimming pool. It might be booked up now for August -which would help decision making..

We went there in the main house last Sept and had a great time. The room was described as standard double but was huge!! The main bedroom was about 20'x20' and the lounge area with sofa and tv was another 15' long. The food was lovely if expensive and the staff were very friendly and helpful.

We enjoyed it so much that we thought we'd try another hotel in the same group, and went to Woolley Grange this year. However, that was a big disappointment, we paid the same price and ended up in a room 12'x9', smaller than the bathroom in Ickworth!! There was no way to eat an evening meal with our 3.5 dd before 7pm (her bedtime) unlike Ickworth. The staff were really nice but the building and grounds are no comparison to Ickworth.
