Family room in hotel or B&B on Northumberland coast - recommendations please!

Subject says it all really!
We're planning on stopping en route to Scotland for one or two nights. Will need space for 2 adults and 2 preschoolers at a reasonably cheap price but apart from space to sleep don't need anything fancy...
Can anyone help?

We stayed at Hogs Head Inn in Alnwick last year. Very nice modern hotel with large family rooms. More expensive than Travel inn probably but worth it, just off A1.
