Nice hotels with large family rooms in Brighton?

Can anyone recommend a nice hotel in Brighton, which has family rooms to sleep 2 adults, and three young children? My dds are 6, 4 and 1, so too young to have a room on their own, and I'm not going to have DH sleeping in a different room (he works away as it is, an there would also be arguments about which DC sleep where :( ).

I'm really fussy about hotel cleanliness, and have cut short a previous stay in Brighton (pre-children) because the lovely surprise hotel DH picked for us was in real life a filthy, smelly hovel (strange hairs in the bed on arrival, suspect carpet etc)!!! I don't mind staying in places like the Premier Inn, which are basic, as long as they are clean, though I do also really love boutique hotels (never have chance to stay in them nowadays!!)

A lot of family rooms only cater for families with 2 children. The Royal Albion appears to have rooms to sleep 5, but the reviews on Trip Advisor have put me right off, though the location is excellent.

Does anyone have any recommendations? I'd be happy to book a suite, or interconnecting rooms, or just one big room. Cost isn't too much of an issue, but we are going to a wedding at the Mercure Hotel, and would like to be able to walk there with our DC, as well as getting to the Pier, Pavillion etc the next day. (The Mercure only sleeps up to 4 in a family room, otherwise we would stay there :( ).

Hope someone can help! :)

We stayed at the Premier Inn last August - was clean, beds comfy enough, room was spacious and nice and centrally located. Plus budget-friendly. I'd stay again. The kids are easily pleased and think it's amazing!
