I don't know the area at all. Can anyone suggest a nice place to stay within an hours drive (Sunday not rush hour Smile ) of Edinburgh. Needs to sleep 5. Thank you.

Stayed in a serviced apartment by Newhaven Harbour, 15 min bus ride to the city centre, Loch Fyne and other restaurants and takeaways round the corner, plus 24 hour Asda. Very handy with small children and had parking.

We had friends who stayed Here whilst visiting us. The location is very handy- just off the city bypass but with bus link in to city centre. Easy access to get on the motorways west or north to explore the rest of Scotland. Reviews are great Reviews One of the things our friends liked was the on site restaurant at the golf club which is very family friedly.

East Lothian is lovely - Gullane, Aberlady, North Berwick etc. Nice beaches. Depends what time of year you're going?

Thanks, both good suggestions. I have gone with cestlavielife's suggestion and will use the park and ride over the bridge Smile
