Looking for suggestions for somewhere to keep dog and kids happy

We're going away for short break end of Nov and have a new dog with no one to look after her so are looking for somewhere dog friendly but with things for the kids to do at least some of the time (aged 8 and 10) although they're not averse to doing some walking. Looking at s/c but we do have a touring caravan so could go to a campsite if there was things to do round about. Have been looking at places in Aviemore without much luck so far. Probably wouldn't want to go further south than Peak district or further north than Aviemore. Any suggestions gratefully received.

We stayed at Budle Falls, near Bamburgh in Northumberland. It is dog friendly and the farm animals should keep the kids happy. There are beautiful dog friendly beaches nearby.

have a look at the petswelcome and dogfriendly websites. if your dog is younger than a year then you might find it tricky as having just had to sort out a holiday myself I have been finding that everywhere says 1 yr old or older no puppies when it comes to dogs.
