Dh and I are spending the night in Edinburgh - first break away from DS that hasn't been a work trip since he was born. Want to go somewhere really nice to eat tonight... Any recommendations? New town area preferably. Many thanks!

Cafe Andaluz for tapas, Phucket Pavillion for Thai, Kyloe for steak. None particularly 'posh' (Kyloe maybe more so), but good food!

Enjoy your free night Smile

Brilliant thank you so much! I LOVE Thai so Phuket sounds bloody marvellous. Hurray! Can't wait

I recommend the Massaman Smile

When you say really nice, do you mean places like this?

If you are looking for something 'cheffy' and posh then the above will be more your bag. Maybe the tower restaurant?

Also Wedgwood on royal mile but both are old town.

Thanks for the great suggestions - going to have a peek at some of those now and see if any still have tables! Such fun thank you! X

Hope you had a lovely meal! Where did you end up?

AgathaPinchBottom · 22/09/2013 09:45

It was really lovely - we ended up at the Thai (Phuket pavilion) and the food was excellent including the massaman! (Thanks ami!) we tried to book kyloe's first as Dh fancied steak and also enquired at the witchery but they were completely booked up. So I got to have my favourite!
Thank you so much for yor advice!
