1 Night spa break - M4 corridor - ideas please....

My lovely chum and I are looking for somewhere along the M4 corridor - half way between Norwich and Devon (!) for a girlie weekend break without the kids.

Somewhere pampering, spa break, good food but not breaking the bank! One night only - ideally a Saturday.

I have been looking at Champneys in Tring (seen an offer in the NT magazine) , but it gets poor reviews - tired and expensive.

Any other little gems please?

Either The Vineyard (5star) or Donnington Valley Hotel (4star) in Newbury both private owned by same individual. Both have gorgeous pool areas lovely hotels with great food.

I would 2nd Donnington Valley - been many times and it is good value for money.

We've stayed at the Hilton St Annes Manor in Wokingham a couple of times they have a good deal for £75pp for one night in a twin room with dinner, treatment, breakfast and use of their facilities.

I would 2nd the Vineyard fantastic place
