Country hotel in South East?

Not looking to travel too far so want to keep to the South East (live just outside Brighton).

Where would you go for a weekend break that was a 3 hour drive max? Was thinking maybe The Cotswolds, looking for a nice country hotel type place.

Barnsley House is fabulous.

Is South Lodge too local?

Limewood hotel in the New Forest.

Barnsley House looks great, just the sort of thing I am after.

South Lodge wouldn't be too local to where I am now but I used to live near Horsham so probably wouldn't go there for a weekend away.

It's a balance between going somewhere new and not travelling too far (have a baby who will be coming too!)

Is Dorset to far? If not Knoll House is fab for young families. Or Tynley Hall which is in the same chain as Ashdown Park hotel. Alexander house is also lovely, especially if you can sneak of to the soa for a few hours.
