Newquay for 3 days - would you do it?

We have a few days before we have to head home and Newquay is near to where we are originally staying.

Us and our DS 8, friend has said avoid it as it will be swamped with young surfer types getting drunk etc...! Looks ok to me but comemtns have put me off a bit!

It has been boardmasters this weekend, so there will probs be a fair few leftover drunks! And it's August so there are always some.

But there are so many lively places in the surrounding area, it's def worth paying a visit. Crantock beach is lush, Perranporth, Holywell Bay will probs be busy but with less yoofs Grin.

I personally avoid Newquay in the summer...but I'm a snobby local!

Btw, that's supposed to say lovely. Lively just sounds like I'm trying to say filled with drunk yoofs euphemistically!

I don't know it I'm afraid, but if you've got a car it doesn't really matter where you stay because you can always go exploring!

And there are so many beaches in the area they won't all be covered in hungover party goers!

Looks nice, did you decide to go for it in the end?
Hope you managed to make the most of the lovely afternoon/evening?

Newquay is very run-down I think. The beach is nice but the town is awful. If you want some prettier places try the coast near Padstow. They'll be busy but nicer!
