Nice family hotel Bristol area?

Travelling from Newquay to Fishguard & looking for somewhere to stay overnight. Stayed at the Aztec near Bristol or elsewhere en route on the way down, was just ok. Any other ideas? Thanks.

We stayed in the Novotel in the centre at Easter; DH, me and DD in the same room (it had an enormous double sofa-bed) with ensuite bathroom.

Was nice. Bed, huge delicious breakfast and overnight secure parking came to just shy of 70 quid, and there was a Tesco Express a minute's walk away that we bought a picnic tea from before having a nice walk around the centre.
