LONDON - Looking for an exciting place to eat for DS age 8, can you recommend?

Rainforest cafe looks abit babyish and over priced. Want to take him somewhere that he can say WOW or is exciting, lively.

Would the Hard rock Cafe hit this spot??? Or where would you recommend?

Yo Sushi if he'll eat it. (They do plenty of cooked bits too). It's always busy in there and deciding what's what on the conveyor belt provides plenty of entertainment - even for us big kids!

DD loves the Palm Court Brasserie in Coventry Garden - very French and always deals on top table. She also loves any of the Belgo though Neal Street in the old underground banana warehouses and the open kitchen is her favourite. She is 9 now I have been taking her regularly since she was 2. Though last time we went to Cote Brasserie Solane Square again very French, Browns in Victoria (upstairs looking out on shopping centre) and Carluccio's all of which she loved.

The decor at Salieri's on the Strand is pretty wow. Not sure on child-friendliness though.

Ditto Sarastro's, on Drury Lane itself. I have eaten there but it was another lifetime ago and all I remember is the decor!

Mine enjoyed Rsinforest cafe. Was very expensive though. They enjoyed an independent Italian cafe just as much.

Are you going to see Charlie? If so I'm jealous.

Another vote for inamo - the tables are computer screens, so you order by pushing buttons and you can play battleship and other games while waiting for food, should be fun for an 8 yr old

Smolenskis in the strand. On saturdays they have magicians etc in there. Food is good too.
