Dawlish area, one night in August, Me + 2 DDs.

Would like to take DD1 and DD2 to the free air show in Dawlish in August.
We normally go but just for the day. We go by train from Somerset.

I thought it would be nice to go on the Friday and stay one night somewhere as cheap as possible then watch the air show Saturday before getting a train home.
So I'm looking for a cheap place to stay for just one night around the Dawlish area Smile .

There are quite a few caravan sites in Dawlish. Not sure if you can stay for just one night though.

Sorry that wasn't much help

What about a B&B?

Tortoise · 01/05/2013 22:18

I was thinking b+b but need to be cheap, probably unlikely in August.
If we had a tent a guess one night might be possible on a camp site but not really worth buying one for one night. Smile

tbh I really doubt you will find a b and b that will only do one night. they might offer it but would then charge you for 2. the cheapest option is a Travelodge or travel inn. what is your definition of cheap? can you borrow a tent from a friend?

usualsuspect · 01/05/2013 22:34

Loads of campsites in Dawlish.

Tortoise · 01/05/2013 22:45

Under £100! Grin
Camping would be ok but Going by train means not being able to carry loads of bedding though. Bit much for one night.
If we go on the day we won't get there until halfway through the day.

I'm sure you will find a b & b for a night. Have a Google.

I don't know exmouth very well. Only been once a few years ago. Stayed at Devon cliffs Haven for a week.
I've been googling like mad but having never booked a hotel/b+b I don't really know what I'm looking for Blush

None in Torquay either. Paignton has rooms available but half hour train and around 2 miles from station. Sad
