Center Parcs soooo expensive for half term week...and the following week is £600 cheaper???

SO what's the cheaper alternative - any suggestions anyone. Were looking forward to going in Oct half term but it's just too expensive what are you doing?

Have you looked closely at your October half term dates? Ours is actually mostly in November when it is a bit cheaper.

how far are you from Europe? we've been to Suncamps in Belgium & Holland, much cheaper and fab swimming pools etc. even when you factor in the crossing.

If you want some where like CPs but quieter i recommend bluestone in west wales. They also have good holiday offers to take advantage of unlike CPs. I've been to both resorts, Bluestone is cheaper, quieter but better standard of accommodation for price,, CPs better waterpark and more activities for the kids. However when asking the kids where they would like best they all say bluestone.

TBH I am one of those parents that cant take hols during school hols so we take ours out of school. if you talk to the school first, plan it properly, organise buddying up for work missed etc then our 3 have never had a problem. this is the only way to avoid the price difference for school hols which you do find everywhere.

I second Bluestone. more a base than full on resort like CP. Beautiful area!

Failing that, move to somewhere that his slightly different holidays?? We seem to usually be a week out to everyone else for Feb half term & Easter so have been able to get some good deals!

Oooh - going to look at Bluestone. As for going outside school hols - impossible, married to a Headmaster

The alternative is just take them out of school. If they are primary age or even year 7 or 8 losing five days education will not affect their gcse's nor will the truant officer come knocking.
