Afternoon tea in London, but not mega bucks.

Have done Claridges, which was fab, bit looking for something a little less costly. Any suggestions? Thanks v much.

Liberty is nice. It's not as posh as Claridges but the actual food is tons nicer. £55 for a champagne tea for two.

The Wolseley is lovely, a bit less formal than Claridges and costs about £20ish pp. Also The Orangery at Kensington Palace in Hyde Park, especially if the weather's nice. That's about £18 pp I think.

Travel zoo quite often has good deals on this sort of thing.

Sketch on Conduit Street is a super costly and cool resto but afternoon tea (one nice tea and cake) is easily sub £10. Ditto Yauatcha on Berwick Street

Yes, in their restaurant on the top floor. I went a couple of years ago for my birthday. Great views of London, and it was about £20-£25 a head.

Slight aside - a guy at work saw a cafe offering afternoon tea for £9.99. One cheese sandwich cut in 4, a supermarket scone heated in the microwave & topped with squirty cream (scone still hot so the cream immediately melted and went awful) & a Mr Kipling French Fancy.
