Broadstairs, Kent. Where to stay Self-Catering

Unfamiliar with Broadstairs, we are looking for somewhere to have a week holiday this summer.

Preferences are self-catering and close to the beach. Ideally a nice chalet, cottage or caravan park.

Any ideas?

We found somewhere on a website called homeaway.co.uk. It has some really unusual properties on there eg the pink house between Broadstairs and Margate, 1930's heaven and detached. Other properties on there looked great too and lots were close to the beach.

anything in this list?

Boadstairs is lovely, nice beach - crowded on sunny days, but great fun, and there are loads of lovely bays all the way round the coast. Joss Bay, round to Botany Bay, or walk the other direction over the cliff path to Ramsgate.

Broadstairs is very small, it doesn't have 'attractions', it's just a small old fashioned seaside town with lots of charm and a fabulous ice cream parlour. Tiny cinema in town, a Vue on the outskirts, driving distance of the brilliant Howletts zoo, and not much to do in the rain.

If you book somewhere in the centre of Broadstairs and have a car, make sure there is a parking space. Parking can be a nightmare in the summer hols.

It's an easy place to visit by train, though.

Thank you for your suggestions. I've looked at both the websites you suggested, thanks.

Love the pink palace!! How unusual! Couple of others to consider on tripadvisor website.

Thanks for your help. Still open to any suggestions.......
