Centre parcs whinfell- worth booking activities for a toddler?

Ds will be 2.7 when we go in May. We've been every year so far, but he's been happy with the pool and playgrounds.

Do you think he is still too young for any bookable activities and is there anything you would recommend?

Have been every year since DS was 12 weeks old. TBH unless your toddler really enjoys new experiences I wouldn't bother. We booked DS into the messy play session, but it was at 5pm which is a daft time for toddlers and he didn't really enjoy it.

They do have sessions where they put out lots of soft play stuff for them to play with, that is worth going to as it's particularly suitable for that age group, but I think you can just turn up and pay on the day.

This year we are booking DS into pony riding, laser quest and tree tops, but he is nearly 7 and he is doing all those activities with his friend in tow - he doesn't really enjoy doing stuff without people he knows.

You could book him into the creche and the two of you go to the spa . The staff are lovely.

No too young. The pool and soft play is usually enough for them.

Dd did baby owls in september and still talks about it.

We have been to the soft play last year, ds loved it and we'll definitely be going again!

Anais, I'll look into that as DH likes owls so maybe it's something they could do together

Our toddler enjoyed the pool and parks far more than anything else so this year we are not booking him into any activities as it was a waste of money plus once they hit five they want to so everything and will bank riot you

We are going last minute this Monday with 4 young boys and can't wait .... Actually, just thought, The teddy bear picnic with Rupert the Bear looks cute for toddlers ??? They do messy play etc at play group but this is something different .... Baby owls sounds cute too.

I can also recommend the baby owl session. DD was 19 months when we were there and loved it.

We never booked ours into any activities. We let them now they are 10 and 8. After a morning in the pool they are usually too tired. Playground, bike ride, soft play, that is enough! Don't spend the money unless you have to. Plenty of time for that. We can't really afford to go now as it is so expensive in school holidays. Enjoy!

We have done the Rupert picnic a couple of times. One time DD loved it, the other time she refused to join in.

I agree that the sessions for some things are at really crap times!

She has always enjoyed the bowling, and did the crèche "party" once and enjoyed that. DS is younger and also did well in the crèche. Swimming lesson?

I would book less, if anything, rather than more, as they are so changeable at that age!

I've booked the owl thing for ds and DH to go to together as he (DH) loves owls. It's dh's birthday whilst we are there so it's going to be a surprise for the pair of them. It was only £6 each... Other than that we will do Free Things only.

Sounds good. We are just back but had a great time .

DS is 6 and for the first time really enjoyed the activities. he did caving, Laser combat in the woods, the tree top challenge and horse riding. None of its cheap though ! But its a great opportunity to try out new activities. We also spent loads of time in the pool - they don't seem to grow out of that one!

The pool keeps me and DH occupied for ages so not surprised about that one!
