Where to stay near Alnwick Castle

Hoping to take DS to Alnwick Castle during the Easter hols. Will be travelling up by train from Yorkshire, can anyone recommend accommodation nearby? The website says there is a bus from Alnmouth to the castle...anyone done this? Thx!

Here is a local timetable. Alnwick station is a little outside of Alnmouth but not far to walk.

Alnmouth is lovely, so is Warkworth. Morpeth is a thriving market town with plenty going on.
