Cottage break with 18month old in Cheshire/N Wales for 30th/60th Birthday

Next year I will be 30 and my mum will be 60 in the same week. We had always intended to have a joint party but we lost my dad this year so that doesn't seem right now, but I would still like to do something nice.
One of my ideas at the moment is to rent a holiday cottage so that friends/close family can get together and celebrate. My son will be 18months old by then so we could enjoy outings with him during the day and we could all be ourselves more than if we were staying in a hotel.
So 2 questions really - 1, does anyone know of anywhere suitable? and 2, what could I do to make it more of a celebration for myself and mum rather than just a normal short break?

We stayed here.
Its slightly out of your search range, but was really well appointed, and had cots / safety gates etc. There was also a miniture railway nearby. We didn't do much else there, as we had another engagement. Sounds like there is lots of stuff nearby, and its a beautiful area. Its pretty rural tho - but tesco deliver!

I've stayed in a lovely place called Hafod Cae Maen - child friendly and gorgeous - I'd definitely recommend it for a special occasion!
