London for the day eye,or cable car, Greenwich , covent garden?

I have about six hours and wondering best thing to do with three children , 18,13, 10. I will be dropped by harrods. Wondering if to do the eye. Or the new emirates cable car, or covent garden. Don't want to spend loads . I am worrying how I would get to the cable car from Waterloo? I'm not very good with finding my way about! I wondered if to try to get the cable car and go to the cutty sark. Any recommendations would be great please! Thanks

The eye is not cheap but the cable car is!

What about getting the river boat from near Waterloo (can't remember exact get on point) and travel down the river, you'll go under tower bridge, to the o2 arena, then get the cable car across or do a 360 return trip. I went recently and my boys preferred the boat and cable car to the eye, you can just see the Olympic stadium. (and they were cheaper, if you have travelcards for the underground you save a third)

I wasn't that impressed with Covent garden although may have been missing something! With regards to finding your way about you'll be fine, the underground is pretty straight forward to use but there is lots of walking to get to the actual trains. Borough market was really good, if you do the cable car you can get the tube from there to London bridge, where the market is or go back on the river boat. If you don't fancy the boat, the jubilee line will take you straight from Waterloo to north Greenwich for the cable car.

You can go from Waterloo to North Greenwich on the Jubilee Line (head towards Stratford) to get to the cable car.

I was worried the boat and the car and Greenwich expensive altogether ? I only looked at Waterloo as near harrods and palace?

We went to London for the Olympics and went onthe river boat to the cable car and across to the Excel stadium. The river bost was really cheap - think there was a reduction for having a travel card but it was about £4 for an adult and £2 for a child. It took over an hour tho cos it stops at every stop along the way (including Greenwich). Can't remember how much the cable car cost but relatively cheap too. I thought it was great but you maybe need to do something as well as for kids it can just be 'travel'

Thanks all, this is so helpful, have plotted my tube route. Am going to check the boat prices now. Is it a Christmas market? Planning peep at palace ( went last year) down to travel gar. Look at big Ben. If I tube is it better from Westminster or Waterloo? Just wondered how far to walk, and the market is there too? Planned catch just an back and forth cable car to look. Thought we would look at cutty dark. A friend said not worth paying to go on as can see most outside? But she hasn't kids so I don't know? Thought about the observatory, but can't work out if far to walk. Thanks for help ! X
