Woohoo! just got 2 tickets for Twelfth Night in LONDON..PARKING advice please?!

I have won 2 tickets on ebay for me and my lovely mum.will be travelling down to london on sat 24th nov by car so we can come back the same night..
What I need to know from some lovely mumsnetters is where would be a good place to park for the evening and then get the tube in to get to the Apollo Theatre .So excited :)

Yes where are you coming from,and what time does the performance start and end?
Most free street parking near tube stations in North london suburbs starts from about 6.30pm. With tube station car parks you have to get back to your car by midnight otherwise you could be ticketed. It isn't usually a problem but the last train in sometimes comes in after midnight. (a really annoying situation)

Then you wll probably be coming down the M1 or the M40?
I would come down via the M1 and go to Woodside Park tube station (Northern Line). Parking is safe on the roads immediately around the station and parking is free (but watch out for residents parking restrictions). Alternatively you could use the station car park which is £3.50 per day on week days and may be less on Saturdays.I would try and get to the station for 6pm which would leave you more than enough time to get to the theatre.

I'm not familiar with parking off the M40

Take the Northern Line (Charing Cross branch) to Leicester Square and it's a 5 minute walk from there to the Apollo, Shaftesbury Avenue. Don't bother to change onto the Picadilly line or Bakerloo line as it won't be any quicker in the long run
