London family of 5

We are planning o go to london around 3rd of jan
There are 5 of us - 3 kids aged 5, 4 and 2.

Where will the best place to stay be? Nee it as cheap as poss - travelodge a only take 4 per room and kids away too young to sleep in seperate room.

Where's the best place to stay to see main sights/ museums etc while still being cheap?

We used to go to london a lot and stay with a good friend but he no longer lives in London so the price and placement of accomadation is a bit of a mystery!

I was in London this week for 3 nights with 4 DC.
You could stay in 2 rooms in a travelodge, it's what we tend to do, and would be nicer than the Dive where we ended up (which wasn't impossible, admittedly). And still walking distance to many sights (my idea of walking distance, anyway).

We would have stayed in Baden Powell House family room if available, could try there.
