Center Parcs Longleat- How far to Longleat house?

At the beginning of October DH, DS and I are going to Center Parcs Longleat. I'd like to spend a day visiting Longleat house but we don't drive. Does anyone know how far it is to walk or whether it's even possible to walk there (with DS in sling)? Will probably get a taxi otherwise.

According to Google maps it's 2.7 miles. The House itself is in a valley down a very long access road so unless there is a walking route I don't know about going down probably wouldn't be too bad, but walking back up at the end of the day wouldn't be much fun.

Longleat House in in large pay as you enter grounds opposite Centre Parks. I would say it's quite a stroll. Not sure how you'd get in by taxi as you have to pay.

It's too far to walk but you could taxi it. Its only up the road from center parcs. Longleat park itself is split into sections that you pay for separately. You can get a ticket for everything for the whole day.
When you arrive, you pay at a tollbooth thingy and I don't see why a taxi couldn't go through that and take you into the car park. There is a minibus thing that goes around the animal park but I don't know anything about that.
The only problem I see is how you'd get the taxi to collect you as I don't know how it'd get back in to pick you up and it's a bloody long walk from the actual park to the pay booth thing.
You can't be the only potential visitors without a car, try ringing them x

You can hire bikes at centre parcs / take your own. Would that be an option? Would have thought that distance would be bikeable.
