try lastminute.com - you can get some bargains there, especially the "mystery hotels" ... and you can do a search on moneysavingexpert to see which mystery hotel it actually is according to the spiel lastminute gives it.

i would go this route, purely because i have stayed in hotels under £100 and some of them are absolute dives (that's you, Earls Court! grrrr!).

Yes lastminute is good, i booked a mystery hotel yesterday next to the tower of London for £119 for this weekend - it turned out to be 5* Grange city hotel so really looking forward to staying there.

Lastminute have a good search function so that if you go to hotels you can chooose from a drop down list of landmarks where you would like to be closest to. I saw St Pauls apartments (which ive stayed at too) up for £99 this Saturday which are perfectly nice 4*. There should be loads in or around the £100 mark and whereabouts you want to stay.

May not be as central as you'd like but I got the Crowne Plaza in Shoreditch for about £80 from their own website.
