Staying in north Norfolk - near Holt. Tell me the best beaches in the area. Had a look at Overstrand yesterday and it looked lovely - had to run as there was an approaching storm. Any other recommendations?

Cromer. We love it there :)

Not Overstrand, I would have thought Holkham nr you.
Sheringham at low tide (look here for approx tides).

Brancaster, Holkham, Wells, Old Hunstanton, Sherringham.

Actually caister & wells are lovely too

Wells beach is stunning.

We stay in Brancaster and the beach there is wonderful. There's nothing there except a small refreshment hut - but that's what we like about it Grin

Wells and Brancaster.

Wells is amazing, absolutely beautiful.

Thank you for those suggestions. One more question..... My dad is with us and can't walk far. Which of those beaches would be the easiest for him to get on to? Where we stopped at Cromer (think it was more east Runton) and Overstrand, the access was incredibly steep.

We weren't taken with Cromer, but perhaps we were at the wrong bit.

Gawd, none of them. Holkham doesn't have cliffs, at least. My dad & step-mum find it difficult just to sit down on the ground, now. Well, actually, I guess it's the getting up part they find tricky. :)

I guess Cromer okay if you bring a beach chair for the old guy.
