UK holiday with 18 month old?

We're looking to get away for a few days in September with DS who is 18 months old. He's quite active, really into animals at the moment and loves swimming. We'd prefer northern England as don't fancy a very long drive.

I'm thinking Center Parcs but DH doesn't seem keen (he thinks it's overpriced but I've found some deals within our price range). We've also had Featherdown Farms recommended but DS doesn't sleep well so I don't know if camping would be right for us.

Does anyone have any suggestions please? Budget is £300-400ish.

Butlins is great fun

Have a look at farmstay, it's usually b and B (some have self catering) but on a farm. Check before you book if they have animals and if ds can meet them.

Haven is another option.

we're going to butlins first week in Sept, will let you know after. Was talking to someone today and she said it was great for toddlers as they have the little fair, big soft play area
