Last Minute Short Break in August - Snowdonia ?

We normally have a week/10 days holiday over summer and a short break at Autumn half term but as time is now tight thinking we may do it in reverse. Thinking perhaps of Snowdonia but open to suggestions (have visited IOW and New Forest in recent years). Any recommendations for places to stay for 4 (2+2) - hotel or sc, pref with access to pool etc - which may have late availability ?

Only know camping out that way but Snowdonia's lovely, and loads to do with the kids.

Thanks, have friends in Yorkshire but didn't want to venture that far North this time. Any suggestions for hotel/b & b in North/Mid Wales for a few days after the Bank Holiday
