Somewhere to stay for one night anywhere between Cumbria and Surrey?!

Have a night booked in the Lakes. Want to have another night somewhere on the way back down. Thinking somewhere small and lovely with nice food, or maybe a bit quirky. Not too far off the M6!

Just thought I'd ask on the off-chance someone would say 'oooh, I know just the place!'

The small and lovely has thrown me as I was going to suggest cheap stop over type places.

De Vere have a summer sale on with some good prices so maybe worth a look.

Of to the Lakes my self this weekend :-)
