We are on holiday for a week in Salisbury soon and would love any family day out suggestions, recommendations, good places to eat - thanks :-)

Not sure how old your children are but can recommend Cholderton Charlie's farm park, Moors Valley, paulton's park (home of pp world).

on a wet day the soft play in Salisbury is Clownabout or Clowntown I think and is in the same building as ten pin bowling. Heale House in the Woodford valley is a pretty drive and they do great cake, Queen Elizabeth Gardens has a great playground and stream to paddle in - from here you can walk through to Harnham getting lovely views of the cathedral and there's a nice pub at the end.

Wilton House has lovely gardens and a great adventure playground. Stonehenge is pretty dull but further afield is Avebury which is slightly more interesting. You're not far from the New Forest and the coast.

Salisbury leisure centre is your nearest swimming pool if you need an indoor activity then down towards Poole is Tower Park which has flumes etc.

In terms of food you've got lots of standard chain places in the city centre - prezzo/ask/pizza express etc. and a couple of nice pubs eg. The New Inn which has a lovely garden at the back. Most of the surrounding villages also have lovely family friendly pubs.

Hope that helps!

Thanks that's great. They are 1 and 3 yrs old so some of those things sounds perfect Grin
