We are off to the New Forest for a week & my DD is desperate to see some wild ponies. Are there any particulary good places to spot them?

I'm going on Saturday with my scouts for a week, should be good. Not one of them has shut up about the damned ponies for months Grin

donkeys and ponies in burley

ponies around boltons bench in lyndhurst

they are wild though i wouldn't approach them tbh

Yep, anywhere really, they're all over the place. You won't miss them, honestly. The big plains like Whitefield Moor, Longslade Bottom, Wilverley Plain are usually a good bet.

Be careful around them though. They can be vicious little bastards. DS (when about 11) was standing calmly and still facing one a few years back while it leant out to sniff him, and it spun round suddenly, shot out a hind hoof and kicked him on the thigh.

Wow - thanks for the quick responses. Sounds like we will not have any trouble spotting them then. I will not be going anywhere near them (all horses scare me) but might struggle to keep DD & DP away - though I will pass on your warnings.
